Jewish Values and the Coronavirus

This guide to values-based decision making collects and curates sources from the Jewish ethical tradition and insights from today’s leading ethical thinkers. It can be used for individual study, as a curricular resource or to ground decision-making in Jewish values. Whether we are leading organizations or trying to keep our loved ones safe, we must now weigh the emotional and economic costs of staying home against the threat of the novel coronavirus. How can the wisdom of Jewish tradition guide us?

Scroll down to explore eight core Jewish values and an introduction to values-based decision making.

In the coming weeks and months, this resource will expand as our collective experience in living out our values in these unprecedented times continues to grow. Please send your suggestions for more articles, texts and values to jewishethics@rrc.edu.
