At this time of renewed hope, deep uncertainty and painful mourning for all we have lost, we’re reminded that the Passover haggadah challenges us to cultivate the deepest possible empathy.
As we approach the second Passover to fall during the COVID 19 pandemic, I’d like to share this video message. More than ever, we must remember that we were redeemed from slavery in Egypt to serve the highest principles, which we must constantly seek to discern. We were freed in order to enter into a covenantal relationship with each other and the divine. Our work is to ensure the liberation and well-being of all people.
I’m so happy to feature in this video the gorgeous composition, Harofei, by Reconstructionist Rabbinical College student Solomon Hoffman, composed to mark the first anniversary of the global pandemic and featured on Ritualwell.
May you have a sweet and happy Passover.
