An emphasis on ethics is integrated throughout the rabbinic curriculum at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. The cultivation of ethical leadership is supported through a range of academic courses and formative experiences, including:
- A foundational course in rabbinic roles and relationships
- A senior seminar in professional and organizational ethics for rabbis
- Elective offerings on biomedical ethics, ethics of speech and economic justice
- Courses in classic Jewish ethical texts
- An orientation to the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association Code of Ethics for new students
- A rotation of required and elective workshops in leadership practice
- Day-long, school-wide case-based learning
- Spiritual Direction
- Mussar study
- Supervision and mentorship for rabbinic internships and work placement
